We are accepting submissions of one act plays by local writers for consideration for our WriteNight festival in January – a professional directed reading of new writing to a public audience.

Are you a writer? Have you written a new one act play over the last 12 months that you would like to be given a first reading? Are you based in Havering, Redbridge or Essex? Then we want to hear from you!

 

Brief: Plays must have a running time of between 3 and 20minutes in performance, and require no more than 5 performers. They can explore any topic or theme, but should be suitable for general public viewing.

 

Deadline for submission: Friday 16 December midday.

Submissions should be:

Sent as hard copy to: WriteNight Submission, The Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch, RM11 1QT

or emailed to: learning@queens-theatre.co.uk with ‘WriteNight Submission’ in the subject line.

 

Please make sure all submissions have a cover page with full authorship listing and contact details.

 

Regrettably we cannot offer feedback on submissions. Hard copies of scripts can only be returned if supplied with a postage paid self addressed envelope.

Successful writers will be contacted week commencing 9 January.
