Maggie May

In light of the latest government advice about Coronavirus, it is with huge sadness that we confirm that our world premiere co-production of ‘Maggie May’, which would have opened officially on 17 March, will no longer play remaining performances at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch.

Ticket holders for the remaining performances will be contacted by the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch box office in the next 48 hours – please wait to be contacted, as our small team will be very busy dealing‎ with the impact of this unexpected news.

Maggie May

by Frances Poet

A world premiere of a witty and joyful family story

Maggie and Gordon first met in 1971 dancing to the sound of Rod Stewart. Now in their sixties, and still very much in love, they’ve been finishing each other’s songs all their sun-shiny marriage.

But now Maggie is feeling foggy and can’t always find the words. Her son and new girlfriend are coming to dinner and her best friend is asking questions. Perhaps it’s time everyone learned a bit more about some family secrets?

An extraordinary play about an ordinary family, balancing the challenges of daily life whilst living with dementia. A warm, humorous and uplifting story, infused with familiar music, all about enduring love by award-winning playwright Frances Poet.

Look out for The Listening Booth in our foyer – an interactive installation amplifying the voices of people living with dementia.
