Queen’s Theatre Club was founded in 1954 to foster and promote interest in the theatre. To this end the Club members organise various functions in order to raise funds to enable the theatre to purchase items which it might otherwise not be able to afford. Over the past ten years we have raised over £55,000. We also help the theatre by carrying out activities such as assisting with the mail shots put out to promote the various productions.
Benefits of Membership
Members receive a monthly newsletter which includes reports on visits, shows we have seen etc. together with full details of forthcoming activities. The newsletter can be received by email or post.
The Club arranges a block booking for one night per production put on by the resident company, which enables members to purchase tickets at just over half price and, for a small fee, the chance to join with other club members at a buffet after the show, when we often have the opportunity to chat to members of the cast.
A number of coach outings are arranged throughout the year. Some of these are to see shows in London or elsewhere, and others to places of interest.
Short holidays are arranged, normally once or twice a year.
We also hold coffee mornings, quiz evenings and lunches.
We meet once a month to hear interesting talks on a wide range of subjects, some with connections to the theatre.
