  • The entrance to the Auditorium is level with the foyer. There are shallow steps with a handrail to all rows except for Row E.
  • There are spaces for four (4) wheelchair users in row E.
  • There are 20 seats in Row E which are reserved for customers requiring step free access

  • The height of the seats are 17inch or 430 mm and the width of the chairs are 18.5 inch or 460mm between the armrest.

Auditorium Radio Transmission system MORE LESS

ASSISTED HEARING HEADSET AND LOOP FACILITY

There is an assisted hearing facility in the Main Stage auditorium. You may borrow a free inner ear headset or transmission receiver from the Box Office in the main entrance foyer. This will amplify the performance sound.

HOW TO USE THE TRANSMISSION RECEIVER

You can plug in your own personal headphones to the receiver or you can ask for an induction loop to use the receiver with your own hearing aid.

Channels can be selected via the central button on the device:

Channel 1 is for assisted listening

You can adjust your volume via the dial.

 

HOW TO USE WITH AN INDUCTION LOOP

Switch to the ‘T’ or ‘MT’ setting on your hearing aid(s), cochlear implant or bone conduction device.

If you are unsure how to change the settings on your hearing aid then contact your audiologist, hearing aid dispenser or hearing aid manufacturer who will be able to tell you how to switch your hearing aid or T-coil enabled device to the correct setting. 79% of hearing aid recipients have access to a T-coil setting but only 22% have been made aware of this setting – for further information please visit: Hearing Loops and T-coils IHLMA International Hearing Loop Manufacturers Association

We offer audio described performances of Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch productions. Audio description may be useful if you have visual impairment. An audio description of the characters, actions, costumes, and set design is provided through a headset as the story unfolds. Essential Companion Tickets MORE LESS

Essential Companion tickets are offered free of charge for someone accompanying an adult patron who requires additional support during their visit. 

These tickets are not for those accompanying children under 16, where the child would always be required to be under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian or other responsible adult (aged 18 or over).

It is not possible to book a space for a wheelchair user online so please contact the Box Office to make this booking for you. You will also be allocated a free Companion Ticket.

We consider everything from sound and lighting cues, stage action and seating plans, signage and refreshment service. If the show is in the main house, we offer extra flexibility when booking seats, so if you know you need a little extra personal space you can request that the seat next to you remains unsold. A quiet space outside the auditorium is also available if you need some time away from the crowd.

  • You’ll find the entrance to Billet Lane car park (7 blue badge bays) on Theatre Road, these are free for TAX Exempt Blue Badge Holders. The entrance has a height restriction of 6′ 6″ (feet/inches).
  • Additionally, there are three allocated parking spaces for blue badge holders at the front of the building (no charge) with a lowered kerb point to allow wheelchair access to the pavement.

  • There’s a sloping ramp or thirteen (13) steps to the main entrance, which is illuminated at all times. There are two sets of doors, one automated, to the main entrance.

Children aged 2 and under can sit on a lap and do not need a ticket, unless information stated in the shows promotional materials or website page deny entry to children under a specified age.
