Calling all children aged 9 – 15! The Queen’s Theatre is holding open auditions on Sunday 8 July giving youngsters the chance to star in this year’s Christmas pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
The Queen’s invites 9 to 15-year-olds to try out for parts in the panto’s Junior Chorus. Auditions will be held at Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch.
Director Martin Berry says: “I’m thrilled to be back in Hornchurch for this year’s pantomime, following up on the fun and success we had with Beauty and the Beast.The Junior Chorus were so impressive last year – bringing glorious energy and joy to the production.They really were wonderful.The creative team and I are excited to find our next group of brilliant young performers for Jack and the Beanstalk- a giant of a pantomime!”
Candidates must be able to sing and dance to a high standard, and preferably have some dance training. They must also have plenty of enthusiasm and commitment! Successful auditionees join the team of chorus members, who share 60 performances of Jack and the Beanstalk during its run from 28 November 2018 – 6 January 2019.

The Queen’s Theatre will be in contact with a time-slot and registration form to bring on the day. Auditionees must wear suitable clothes to move about in; and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Successful candidates must attend all rehearsals, which will begin on Saturday 3 November and will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5pm – 8pm) and Saturday day times (exact timings TBC), as well as be available for technical and dress rehearsals Saturday 24 to Wednesday 28 November.
They will also need to attend a ‘meet and greet’ on Friday 2 November prior to the rehearsal period.
