Mathew Russell
Executive Producer
Mathew Russell trained in Arts Management at De Montfort University. He is Executive Director at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, has held similar roles in eight UK arts organisations, and held board roles including previously with Arts Council England South East.
At QTH, productions he has produced include the Public Acts European premiere production of As You Like It in partnership with the National Theatre and Essex Girls and Boys season, regional premiere of In Basildon, Once, Abi, Priscilla Queenof the Desert and major revivals of The Hired Man, Abigail’s Party and Kindertransport.

He produced the Festival of Love at Southbank Centre and led Stephen Joseph Theatre’s 60th birthday celebrations and world premieres of Hero’s Welcome and The National Joke. At Watford Palace Theatre, he was Executive Producer of world premieres including Ideal World Season, An Intervention, Jumpers for Goalposts, Our Father, Britain’s Got Bhangra and founded Imagine Watford. At Greenwich + Docklands Festivals, Mathew produced eight editions of the annual festival, established the Liberty Festival and produced events across Europe, including the 2012 Olympic bid announcement in Trafalgar Square.
