From Tipperary to Flanders Fields celebrates the stories of some of the women who became nurses, bus drivers, factory workers or entertainers during the conflict of World War I, as well as reflecting on the experience for combatants and civilians. It offers a poignant response to the war using British and American Music Hall favourites, poetry, readings and drama.
Created by professional company Katapult Productions, Tipperary to Flanders Fields is warmly entertaining and full of information about the lives of the people whose work is included in the show. It is a thought-provoking and moving show that adds a deeper understanding of war and its consequences. The performance also includes original film footage of the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
