alice on the underground, synopsis

Alice on the Underground mirrors the dream figures of Alice in Wonderland but draws upon the stark reality of 21st Century London life.

A bleak existence comprising of a dysfunctional family and life on a council estate, leads a young teenage girl, Alice, to run away from home.

Following a six-foot tall white rabbit down his rabbit hole, she ends up underground – on the tube network. A number of bizarre encounters bring Alice face to face with the scourge of London’s underbelly.

Yet Alice’s youthful hope prevails and she resurfaces to the bosom of her freakish family.
