QYouth Theatre
Experiment, create and perform original and scripted theatre on a professional stage! It doesn’t matter if you’ve got plenty of experience or none at all: anyone can be a part of QYouth. So if you’ve got a passion for theatre and performing, come and join the fun!
Please note: The waiting list for Q Clubs and Q Junior Youth Theatre is approximately two years. However, once your name is on the waiting list we will contact you with about any extra opportunities which arise for your age group.
QClub | ages 7 - 11
An opportunity to learn drama skills, play drama games, help your confidence and work towards some scripted and devised performances for your friends and family to see. (School Years 3 to 6). Click for schedule
QJunior | ages 11 - 14
An opportunity to learn drama and performance skills; experiment with different styles of performance and stimulus items; workshop and devise theatre and perform scripted pieces on the main stage. (School Years 7 to 9). Click for schedule
Cut 2 | ages 14 - 19
Cut 2 is a young performance company. You will work towards multiple performances in a variety of styles and genres. You will learn new skills, base work on practitioners or established playwrights and create your own original theatre to be performed both on the Queen’s stage and venues as diverse as National Trust houses and shopping centres. (School Years 10 to 13).
As a member of QYouth you will:
- Work with theatre professionals
- Learn new skills
- Create original theatre and work on scripted pieces
- Perform on the Queen’s Stage and in other venues
- Meet loads of new people and make new friends
- Get one free ticket for each Queen’s show
Jack Petchey
Q Youth and QDance dance group both participate in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Programme, a scheme that recognises the effort of young people in East London and Essex. Every month, a participant is selected to receive an Achievement Award. The winner is given an Achievement Award Certificate and money to spend on the group.
