Whatever your age or ability the Queen's Theatre has a huge range of opportunities to get involved.


Ages 5 - 7

Story Play
Theatre fun and games with workshops based around popular children's stories:

Sat 3 Mar | 9am ages 5-6 | 9.50am ages 6-7 | Stick Man

Sat 7 Apr 9am ages 5-6 | 9.50am ages 6-7 | Giraffes Can't Dance

Sat 5 May  | 9am ages 5-6 9.50am ages 6-7 | Aliens Love Underpants

Ages 7 - 11

Jester's Drama Club
Every Saturday
 21 Apr - 12 May | 1:30pm – 3:30pm | ages 7 - 11
A NEW drama club with weekly workshops full of fun drama games. Workshops last 2 hour and cost just £6 each. Book in advance at the Box Office on 01708 443333. Participants can only book a maximum of 3 sessions at one time.


QClub
An opportunity for children aged 7 - 11 to learn drama skills, play drama games, help your confidence and work towards some scripted and devised performances for your friends and family to see. Part of the Q Youth programme.

Please note the waiting list for Q Clubs and Q Junior Youth Theatre is approximately two years. However, once your name is on the waiting list we will contact you with any extra opportunities which arise for your age group.

 


Ages 11 - 14

Q Junior
An opportunity for young people aged 11 - 14 to learn drama and performance skills; experiment with different styles of performance and stimulus items; workshop and devise theatre and perform scripted pieces on the main stage. Part of the QYouth programme. Part of the QYouth programme.

Please note the waiting list for Q Clubs and Q Junior Youth Theatre is approximately two years. However, once your name is on the waiting list we will contact you with any extra opportunities which arise for your age group.

 


Ages 14 - 19

Cut 2
Cut 2 is a young performance company for ages 14 - 19. Members work towards multiple performances in a variety of styles and genres, learn new skills and create original theatre to be performed both on the Queen’s stage and venues as diverse as National Trust houses and shopping centres. Part of the Q Youth programme. Cut 2 is by audition only and is currently full. 

 


Dance 14 – 19

Q Dance

Every Thursday | 5:30pm - 7;00pm

QDance is dedicated to learning and developing a variety of techniques and preparing work for performance. Participants also learn how to choreograph their own work. They work with their choreographer to fuse Street dance with a diverse range of dance styles and create energetic dance pieces to showcase at the theatre for family and friends.
QDance also headline First Feat, a Youth Dance Platform for East London and Essex, held at the Queen's and prepare work for performances at other venues and events.

Jack Petchey

QYouth and QDance both participate in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Programme, a scheme that recognises the effort of young people in East London and Essex. Every month, a participant is selected to receive an Achievement Award. The winner is given an Achievement Award Certificate and money to spend on the group.
