PRESS reviews for Satin ‘n’ Steel, the Queen’s newly-opened comedy of showbiz dreams, have heaped praise on the production which plays until 25 February.
The Stage’s glowing verdict says this bittersweet comedy “pulls at the heartstrings” as it charts singing duo Teena Satin and Vince Steel’s touching quest for success and stardom.
It pours praise on the “delightful harmonies” of the show’s cut to the chase... stars, delighting in Jonathan Markwood’s “haunting” rendition of Daydream Believer and Kate Robson-Stuart’s “spine-tingling” performance of Time after Time.
WhatsOnStage awards the production a prestigious four stars, applauding both actors’ emotional responses and congratulating director Matt Devitt, Mark Walters’ imaginative set as well as the technical dexterity of the show’s stage managers!
The Romford Recorder loves the “classic disco floor fillers and sing-a-long tunes” and the “heart-warming characters and down-to-earth humour”, with special admiration for Teena and Vince’s luminous “onstage chemistry.”
And Reviews Gate paid tribute to "fine performances" from both Markwood and Robson-Stuart.

Satin ‘n’ Steel is written by award-winning playwright Amanda Whittington, who also wrote the Queen’s Theatre hits Ladies’ Day and Ladies Down Under.
Tina White is content with singing in the bath until she meets club singer Vince Steel at a karaoke competition – who just knows she’s got the X-factor. Leaving her dead-end job behind, Tina agrees to join Vince on the road to fame and fortune. They form a duo and fall madly in love, but can life as Satin ‘n’ Steel live up to the songs they sing? Just when it seems dreams can come true, a guilty secret threatens to burst their showbiz bubble…
