WIZARDS, magic and stars continue the Queen’s season of Saturday fun on 4 February - with a workshop based on the book How to Catch a Star and a magical show by children’s entertainer Ali Cardabra. Tickets are only £5 each!
Both events are part of the Queen’s Theatre’s series of children’s workshops and shows held in the Foyer on the first Saturday of each month. Youngsters can enjoy Story Play, storytelling workshops based on popular children’s stories, followed by an hour of theatrical fun and games with The Entertainers, a series of shows especially for kids.
The How to Catch a Star workshop on Saturday 4 February takes place at 9am and is aimed at kids aged 5 –7. The 45-minute session will be based on Oliver Jeffers’ much-loved picture book about a young stargazer and will be packed full of fun and games. Tickets are just £5.
The enjoyment continues with hugely popular children’s magician Ali Cardabra as he presents Wizard Stonering at 11.30am for ages 3 – 7, a show filled with magic, comedy and fun! A member of the highly prestigious Magic Circle, Ali Cardabra is much in demand and has been performing magic across the UK for decades. Tickets are £5 for adults and £5 for children.
Story Play and The Entertainers continue throughout the spring with many funny and colourful workshops and shows: Stick Man and Danny and his Amazing Balloons on 3 March; Giraffes Can’t Dance and Magical Mel’s Easter Adventure on 7 April; and Aliens Love Underpants and The Magic and Mayhem Show on 5 May. Tickets are £5.
There’s also theatrical fun to be had every Saturday from 1.30–3.30pm at the Jester’s Drama Club. This drop-in club will be held weekly from 4 February – 24 March and 21 April – 12 May, aimed at ages 7 - 11 with fun-filled workshops for just £6.
