WE are delighted that this year’s magical Christmas pantomime Cinderella, playing until 14 January, has opened to rave reviews from the press.

The Essex Chronicle and Brentwood Gazette love the show’s “glitz, glam and razzmatazz”, applauding the Queen’s resident company of actor-musicians cut to the chase… for “pulling out all the stops to put on a memorable show.”

Pronouncing it full of “magic, sparkle and glitter”, the Romford Recorder pays tribute to Queen’s Head of Design Mark Walters and the Queen’s in-house workshop, wardrobe, scenic art and stage management teams for the “dazzling costumes and stunning set.”

Also praising the Queen’s unique capacity as a producing theatre, The Public Reviews’ glowing verdict on Cinderella is: “Home-grown in Hornchurch and all the tastier for it”, describing it as “a fast-paced, colourful panto.”

The Essex and East London Enquirer enjoyed a “spectacular evening”, congratulating cut to the chase… on a “fantastic” show, with a special mention for the “hilariously brilliant” Ugly Sisters played by Simon Jessop and Tom Jude (pictured above with Niall Costigan as Prince Charming).

WhatsOnStage.com also applauds the “sumptuous sets and costumes”, while The Stage very aptly sums up its approval with: “This shoe certainly fits”!
