Adult Writers’ Group Showcase
The Writers’ Group Showcase 2004 featured some of the best new work
devised and developed as part of the Queen’s Theatre’s Writers’
Group, performed as rehearsed readings by members of the Queen’s
professional company cut to the chase…
The evening included diverse works by four aspiring local writers, who developed their scripts under the guidance of celebrated local playwright, screenwriter and Time Out Best New Play of 2000 Award Winner, David Eldridge. David is also Literary Associate at the Queen’s Theatre. His adaptation of the Dogme95 film Festen premiered at the Almeida Theatre in March 2004 and his new play M.A.D. opened at the Bush Theatre in April 2004.
Over the past few months the group of fifteen local writers worked on exploring the different elements of writing a script, from structuring and shaping a play to writing for television and radio.
