10th Birthday of cut to the chase…
the Queen’s Theatre’s professional resident company.
Throughout the year we will celebrate a decade of great live entertainment
from your very own multi-talented ensemble of actor-musicians!
The Queen’s
Theatre has been home to cut to the chase…
since Artistic Director Bob
Carlton established the company in 1998. Over the last 10 years
they have gone from strength to strength, playing to packed houses
and winning great acclaim from audiences and press alike.
cut
to the chase… are unique. They are the only
resident company of actor-musicians in the entire country. As well
as acting, every member of cut to the chase…
is also a talented musician; singing and playing at least two musical
instruments.
“The
audience stamped and cheered their approval”
The Independent
cut
to the chase… is based on the traditional repertory
system. During the run of each show the company spend the day rehearsing
for the next show, whilst performing the current production in the
evening. Every year the company bring you eight Main House shows,
everything from musicals and comedy to dramas and thrillers, not
to mention Shakespeare and the annual family pantomime. Company
members also appear in the Queen’s Theatre-in-Education productions,
which tour to schools throughout East London and Essex.
In the Spring
Season 2008 cut to the chase… bring
you Absolutely Frank
and have also appeared in Dick
Barton-Special Agent, Relatively
Speaking, Twelfth
Night and the theatre-in-education tours of Of
Mice and Men and Olivia
Twist.
