Much
in demand as an act, Alistair Barrie has forged a reputation for himself
as one of the top comperes to emerge in recent years. His deceptively
friendly and engaging stage presence masks a sharp, dry wit which can
be turned to subjects as diverse as suicide bombers in the Middle East
to the perils of flying EasyJet. Despite a fondness for topical material,
any performance is likely to be peppered with some inspired silliness
and a little audience-related improvisation.
Having
originally trained as an actor, Alistair started on the comedy circuit
in 1998. Now a regular at all the major London venues and on the National
circuit, he has also gigged as far afield as the Edinburgh Festival, Ireland,
Amsterdam, Sydney and Melbourne.
Alistair
has also compered the comedy tents at both the Leeds and Reading Festivals,
as well as the Taboo Time comedy tour at Universities across the country.
He is also resident MC at On The Tiles in London, the Civic Club in Gilford
and currently runs the Fortnight Club, following in the footsteps of,
amongst others, Alan Davies and Lee Hurst.
