whizz, sound consultant
Whizz
was born and brought up in Edinburgh where, in the early part of his life,
he worked at nine Edinburgh festivals. He then trained at LAMDA (The London
Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) as a technician going on to work with
the National Theatre on Guys and Dolls, London Contemporary Dance,
and West End productions of Into the Woods, Hunting the Snark,
Children of Eden and European tours of Evita, Jesus
Christ Superstar, Les Misérables and Cats.
He also worked on the original productions of Phantom of the Opera
and Aspects of Love opening the latter on Broadway in New York.
Whizz then joined Imagination
as a Sound Designer and worked there for three years on a multitude of
projects including the award winning Once on this Island and
extensively in Europe on the Motor Show circuit.
Whizz is currently a consultant
at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch where he has designed sound for
numerous productions including Return to the Forbidden Planet
and its British tour. Work with Bill Kenwright Ltd includes shows such
as Blood Brothers, Ghosts and The Odd Couple.
He recently designed the huge hit Whistle Down the Wind for the
same producer. Whizz’s longest running show in the West End is Fame.
