Matt is Associate Director at the Queen’s and has recently directed
Relatively Speaking, Dick Barton – Special Agent, Corpse!,
From a Jack to a King, A Slice of Saturday Night, Neville’s
Island, Jack and the Beanstalk, Bouncers, Room
at the Top, Two, Curses!, Who’s Afraid
of Virginia Woolf?, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Aladdin,
A View From the Bridge, Private Lives, Educating
Rita, Sleuth and The Lost World.
As a member of cut to the chase…
Matt has appeared at the Queen’s as Lionel Bart in It’s
a Fine Life!, the Landlord in Two,
Dromio of Ephesus in The
Comedy of Errors, Nurse in Romeo
and Juliet, Bottom in A
Midsummer Night’s Dream, Al in April
in Paris, Daffyd ap Llewellyn in A
Chorus of Disapproval and Widow Twankey in Aladdin.
Theatre:
After taking a degree in performing arts at Middlesex Polytechnic and
a brief career at the MOD (don’t ask), Matt was given his first
job by Bob Carlton at the Bubble Theatre. During two seasons and many
shows he created the role of Cookie in the original production of Return
to the Forbidden Planet and Eric Glamis in the original From
a Jack to a King and recently played Dromio of Ephesus in The
Comedy of Errors for Ludlow Festival.
West End:
Cookie in Return to the Forbidden Planet for which he received
an Olivier Award nomination for Most Outstanding Performance in a musical.
Matt directed and starred in the West End run of From a Jack to a
King and was Production Director for Hedwig and the Angry Inch
(Playhouse).
Matt has supported West Ham
since 1966 and always will!
