Doug was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and made his home in Denver, Colorado, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts from Metropolitan State in Theatre Performance.

While working primarily as a musical theatre performer, Doug worked with a number of TIE (Theatre in Education) groups and in programmes aimed at using theatre as a tool to empower youth at risk.

Doug resettled in the U.K. in January of 2003 and has been at the Queen's Theatre since September 2003. Doug is committed to the premise that skills learned in arts education in general, and theatre education in particular, are tremendous aids in building character and confidence.
