Daryl
completed training in 2003 at The Central School of Speech and Drama studying
the postgraduate course in Acting Musical Theatre, and at the University
of Salford in 2002 from the BA (Hons) Performing Arts programme and is
currently Co-Artistic Director of Impetuous Kinship.
Since graduating from
Central, Daryl’s performance highlights include Augustus the hunter
in Red Riding Hood (Theatre Royal, Stratford East); Phantom and Understudy
Brad The Rocky Horror Show and Eugene in Grease (Gaiety Theatre, Isle
of Man).The Manx Independent haled him as the ‘Gem of the Show’
for his portrayal of Eugene.
Other credits include
Squire Trelawney in Treasure Island (European Tour); Man
in A Love Show (Workshop); Jim in Jellicoe – The Musical
(Shaw Theatre); Dan in The Fax of Life (Greenwich Theatre); James
in Afterwards (Workshop); Danny/Swing in Tricks (Edinburgh
Festival); To You and Buzz Hawkins and the Bradshaw’s
(The Lowry); Azor in The Dispute (Robert Powell Theatre). Daryl
also appeared as Michael in the feature film Supreme Beings (Minimum
Wage Films).
Daryl is also a Performance
Educator, teaching Drama and performance skills to all ages. Daryl has
worked for many theatre schools and youth groups including as a visiting
lecturer for The Central School of Speech and Drama.
Daryl was awarded
the Squire Prize for Performing Arts in 1999 and the Brian Godfrey Award
for Drama in 1997.
