claire bailey-day
education and outreach officer
(Claire is on maternity leave until Summer 2009)

Claire Bailey DayClaire has lived in Hornchurch all her life. She had her first taste of acting when she was 11 and it was here at the Queen’s Theatre that she first trod the boards in A Tale of Two Cities.

From there she went on to teach the theatre’s youngest youth drama groups Q-Club and Q-Club 2 until taking up her post as Education and Outreach Officer.

Claire studied at Chickenshed Theatre for two years and performed in two of their Christmas productions. For five years she was involved with Chickenshed’s outreach programmes and helped to develop BanDit Shed Youth Theatre based at Dagenham Park School. In 2005 she helped create a new group of BanDit Shed for 5-7 year olds and this proved to be a great success.

Claire has been the Education and Outreach Officer here at the Queen’s Theatre since September 2006.
