At
the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch:
Carol has been Musical Director since 2000 at the Queen’s. She has
been involved in over thirty productions here. She is proud to have composed
and arranged music for The Tempest, Brighton Rock, Jane
Eyre, The Glass Menagerie plus her pantomimes – three
Jack and the Beanstalks, three Aladdins, two Cinderellas,
a Dick Whittington and a Sleeping Beauty. This year’s
Mother Goose will be virgin territory. She was recently musical
director for A Slice of Saturday Night and From a Jack to
a King.
Her performances
at the Queen’s include Dandini in Cinderella, Lady Eleanor
in Curses!, Shirley in Shirley Valentine, Lady Montague
in Romeo and Juliet, Fairy Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty,
Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Vera in Women
on the Verge of HRT, Lady Seward in Dracula, Dolly Messiter
in Brief Encounter, for which she also played excerpts from Rachmaninov’s
3rd Piano Concerto, Yvonne in Perfect Pitch, Mrs Fairfax in Jane
Eyre, Rebecca Huntley-Pike in A Chorus of Disapproval, Miss
Bland in Face, Beattie in In the The Midnight Hour and
the Brass Upstairs in Fings Ain’t Wot They Used t’Be.
Theatre:
She was nominated for an Olivier award for Lennon, and did a
long stint in Buddy in the West End, for which she was also Musical
Director. She had the good fortune to be Musical Supervisor on Murderous
Instincts (Norwich Theatre Royal) and occasionally plays the piano
for Julian Clary’s show, Natural Born Mincer.
TV:
Credits include Brighton Boys, Doctors, The Secret
Camera Show and Children in Need. She is currently enjoying
her new band Bluesmoke who are about to embark on an extensive
tour of pubs in Brighton. Her son Robert plays bass.
