9 March - 31 March
the tempest
by William Shakespeare

a stormy mix of magic and romance

Prospero is overthrown from power and exiled to a deserted island with his daughter Miranda. Twelve years later, a magical storm shipwrecks Prospero’s enemies and washes them straight into his hands.

Trapped in an enchanted land they can finally settle old scores as the story of love, freedom and forgiveness unfolds. With an explosive storyline that could have almost been lifted from your favourite soap, this gripping new production of one of Shakespeare’s greatest ever plays is not to be missed!

'If you are at all terrified by the thought of seeing Shakespeare,
worry no longer'
Brentwood Gazette

As creator of the Olivier award-winning musical Return to the Forbidden Planet, which was based on The Tempest, Director Bob Carlton is renowned for creating Shakespeare that is approachable and a joy to watch. Designer Mark Walters’ impressive set and Musical Director Carol Sloman’s atmospheric score, performed live on stage by the cast of actor-musicians, evoke a majestic wonderful world to lose yourself in.
