An English Summer
by Ronald Adam
Ronald Adam was himself
a controller in the operations room at the RAF Station Hornchurch. This
is the setting for his play, the time is the summer of 1940, and the story
concerns the “few”.
But for the efforts
of this handful of young men the history of the world would have been
changed, and it is well for us to remember today the immortal words of
Winston Churchill: “Never in the field of human conflict was so
much owed by so many to so few”.
This play catches
most remarkably the spirit of this man and the atmosphere of that summer.
