At the Queen’s we aim to move, delight, amaze and nurture through a continually evolving programme of drama, musicals, comedies, theatre for families, live music, live comedy, exciting new shows by emerging theatre-makers, community events, classes and more in our epic 500-seater Main House theatre, on our intimate Foyer Stage and out and about.
We believe strongly that live performance has the power to enrich lives and that this should be available to all – this lies at the heart of what we do.
Home to the original productions of the award-winning Return to the Forbidden Planet and Blood Brothers, performers such as Maggie Smith, Martin Shaw, Joan Plowright, Prunella Scales, Nigel Hawthorn, Carol Sloman, Lucy Benjamin, Gemma Salter, Bernard Cribbins, Conn O’Neill and theatre-makers and artists David Eldridge, Bob Carlton, Bob Eaton, Glen Walford, Nichola McAuliffe, Tim Firth, Dan Murphy and Richard O’Brien the Queen’s, over its 60 plus year history, has built an incredible track record in creating the best in live entertainment.
We have an impressive learning and participation programme engaging over 9,000 participants each year, enabling people to express themselves and their stories through the arts.
Behind the scenes our highly skilled carpentry workshop, scenic artists and wardrobe department all lovingly create our sets and costumes on-site.
We also boast a warm and welcoming foyer with a café, bar with free wifi that’s open all hours and is ideal for meetings, a quiet place to work and a place to meet friends.
